Archidirectors

Fantasy and reality seamlessly blended. A tribute to Fellini’s hyper-real aesthetic where dreams and illusions are both present and realistic. A "grotesque", clownesque” and “carnivalesque” architecture inspired by the circus; a perfect blend of symbolism and realism.

An architectural experiment that explores the intersections between the mechanized world of the machine age and the simplicity of the archetype of a wooden house. A “folie” house without right angles activated by a mechanism, an engine heart which gives it life and energy. The triumph of the simplicity of a childlike vision.

A façade of an old stone invaded from plants. The idea was to create a home inside another, like matryoshka dolls. A classic, abandoned structure reminiscent of an old church that hides an inner heartbeat. A structure that fights between the perception of the sacred and the profane, classic and modern at the same time.

This image is like a voyeuristic peek into a house from the rear windows. It is a narrative architecture, a closed structure balanced between Hopper’s paintings and Wright’s architecture. Stairs and Windows are the guides and the key role to discover the hidden and mysterious life of the house.

A tribute to Tati’s criticism on the alienation characterizing modern cities, contemporary architecture, mechanical efficiency and consumerism. The Modern and Vernacular coexist in an unstable equilibrium of delicate foundations. An impertinent house that works as a peculiar machine with its own life.

Trying to capture Lynch’s unique style, this house reflects a creative use of lighting to create a mysterious and surrealistic atmosphere. An architecture perspective balancing dream (nightmare) with reality; a solid structure contrasts with a wide aperture soaked in red revealing the secrets and life hidden inside. Curtains open. The movie begins...

A triumph of light and color, transparently masked through comedy and fantasy. Spaces are put together and overlap in a game of interlocking boxes to build a world that breaks apart and turns into an elegant chaos. This architecture is a sequence of miniature pieces as part of an orchestration.

A creepy Victorian and Modern mansion. An archetype house that embodies all of the gothic weirdness of his films. A challenging draw that could be described as a transformation of German expressionism into a children story. A dark house with hideous atmosphere which doesn't have the intention to scare you. It calls you to discover its small and magical secrets instead.

This nomad mobile gipsy house is a playful, satiric and ethnic architecture frozen in time and space. An expression of the emotional truth of the human nature, made up of different parts as if they had been added over time. A living and moving architecture reflecting the heartbeat of life that inhabits it and the magic of joy.

A spaceship architecture lost in time and space. A “crossbreed” between a house and a robot, a machine and an architectural structure. Kubrick’s "weird" and disturbing atmosphere, an unstable blend of humor and terror, is here emphasized by the use of primary colors and basic geometric shapes. A structure with hidden clues, waiting to be found.
